If you are using SketchUp 2017+, follow these instructions:. In SketchUp, select Window Extension Manager. The Extension Manager window appears. Click the Install Extension button.
In the Open dialog box that appears, navigate to the.rbz file saved to your computer, select the file, and click OK (Microsoft Windows) or Open (Mac OS X). When SketchUp warns you about installing only extensions from trusted sources, click Yes to proceed and install your extension. (This assumes you do, in fact, trust the source of your extension.
Note that you usually have to close and restart SketchUp once you install a new extension for them to work. I spent the majority of my time with Sketchup 8 and only recently installed SketchUp 2015 and it looks like they've installed a new extension manager. But it looks like they're generally interacted with in the same way.
If you are using SketchUp 2016 or below, follow these instructions. Open SketchUp and go to the Window menu (SketchUp menu on Mac). Select ‘Preferences’. Select ‘Extensions’. Click ‘Install Extension’. Locate the RBZ file that you downloaded. It will usually be found in your ‘Downloads’ folder.
Select the RBZ file. Click ‘Open’. When prompted, choose ‘Yes’ to install the Extension.
Restart SketchUp. If the Extension did not seem to install correctly, try the following:. Go to Window-Preferences-Extensions and make sure that the Extension is listed and enabled. Go to View-Toolbars and make sure that the Extension toolbar is listed in the menu and is enabled.
Vor 4 Monate This is not helpful if you have a Mac. And it seems to be dated - for instance, Preferences no longer has an Extensions section. Perhaps this has all been moved over to the Extensions Manager.
I have a Mac, however, and I still do not know how to get any of my plugins from Sketchucation to connect to Sketchup (2018). Perhaps it is simple once you know how to do it, but it is really a pain until that point. And I am not clear why such a comprehensive and longstanding program makes something so critical so difficult.
Vor 3 years Thank you thank you thank you for showing us how to maneuver the files. Now I don't know if you've ever heard of house builder in Ruby Depot but been having an aggravating time trying to get it on my 2014 version just can't seem to get it and yes I'm not a great computer guy. They have some conversations about it on Sketchucation but nothing in layman's terms. I don't know if you would be able to do a video on it or describe how to properly do it in layman's terms any help would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance!
